The 37-year-old man was parked inside the emergency lane when a truck lost control and hit him, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
MACON, Ga. — A Soperton man is dead after a car accident on I-16 West, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The release said John Patrick Pace, 37, was parked in a Ford F-150 in the emergency lane. A 22-year-old was driving east on I-16 West, east of the Ocmulgee East Boulevard exit 6, in a Chevrolet Silverado around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday.
The sheriff’s office said the Silverado lost control and crashed into Pace’s Ford F-150. The release said that when deputies arrived at the scene, they found that Pace was unresponsive. Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley declared him dead on the scene.
