Man arrested amid FEMA Helene security threats [Video]

A North Carolina man was arrested and charged after threatening to possibly harm Federal Emergency Management Agency workers helping with Helene relief efforts over the weekend, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.William Jacob Parsons, 44, was charged with going armed to the terror of the public. He was charged after emergency dispatchers received a call Saturday about an armed man making comments about possibly harming FEMA workers in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock areas, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators said they obtained a description of the vehicle the man was driving and the tag number and were able to identify him as a suspect with the help of other law enforcement.The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said he was armed with a handgun and a rifle.
