Man accused of assaulting girlfriend arrested after shooting at police [Video]

The Taunton Police Department arrested a man on Wednesday who is accused of shooting at officers while barricaded inside an apartment bathroom.Police said 34-year-old Daniel MacKinnon attacked his girlfriend Wednesday morning inside their apartment on Hodges Avenue in Taunton, which prompted his girlfriend to call the police.By the time police showed up, they said MacKinnon had barricaded himself in the bathroom.Police said he then fired at an officer, to which the officer shot back.”All of a sudden, all these cruisers and everything with the dogs and that pulling in,” said Mary Lefebvre, who witnessed the incident. “It was like, I heard bang, bang, bang.”Police said they then spent an hour negotiating with MacKinnon before he surrendered.Nobody was hurt during the exchange and police said they arrested MacKinnon and transported him to the Taunton Police Station for booking.Police said they believe this was an isolated incident and not a random act …
