LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Building a successful, impactful business takes a lot of work.
On Wednesday, hundreds gathered at the Cornhusker Marriott to recognize often-unsung efforts at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Celebrate Business Awards.
Seven awards were presented, including the “Community Builder Award,” given to John Goodwin, CEO of the Malone Center. Goodwin, who has played a key role in shaping the Lincoln community, said the award was for everyone he’s worked with.
“To see them reach that goal and continue to achieve more…. I’m speechless because you’re now in a position to where you’re changing and help changing families for generations to come,” Goodwin said.
Originally from Chicago, Goodwin has made a significant impact since moving to Lincoln in 1996.
The Malone Center is currently building a new facility, with construction expected to finish around late 2025 and early 2026.
