Mississauga has taken its sales pitch south of the border in a big — and visible — way in an effort to bring U.S. tourists to Canada’s seventh-largest city.
City of Mississauga tourism officials told INsauga.com a new advertising campaign has placed a 30-second TV commercial on major U.S. networks including CNN and AMC.
Among other things, the quick-hit ad filled with colourful visuals of many of Mississauga’s landmarks touts the city as “a place that will make you feel at home.”
The commercial is aimed directly at American viewers and is part of a new campaign run by Visit Mississauga, the destination marketing organization within the city, a spokesperson said in an email to INsauga.com.
