Major Dublin water pipeline to be turned off in DAYS as bosses issue discoloured & cloudy warning for 1.7m people [Video]

SOME 1.7 million people could be affected by water disruptions when a major supply line is turned off in just four days time.

Uisce Eireann has confirmed that they will progress “critical repair work” to secure the drinking water supply for the Greater Dublin Area. 

Customers in Dublin and parts of Wicklow and Kildare may experience supply disruption – including low pressure, discoloured water, or water outages, on Tuesday August 13 and Wednesday August 14 as the repairs are underway.

The water running through a major pipeline supplying the greater Dublin area will be turned off during this time.

The area is “heavily dependent” on this large pipe, which carries 220 million litres of water – equal to around 80 Olympic swimming pools -each day and supplies about one third of the GDA’s drinking water.
