LOCALS in a popular Cork town are getting a major boost as it has been announced that nearly 300 new homes are set to be built.
Planning permission has been granted for a new large-scale residential development which will see almost 270 homes built in Midleton, Co Cork.
An Bord Pleanála has upheld the decision of Cork County Council and has approved the development.
The board has revised some of the details of the permit, with 268 residential units, a creche and a community-use building by a 2-1 majority.
The development is set to go ahead at Broomfield West, Midleton.
