Main Street Morgantowns Artisan Entrepreneurship Program receives 120k grant [Video]

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) – The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation awarded Main Street Morgantown a $120,000 grant to bolster opportunities for entrepreneurs in the area. Thanks to partnerships with Bridgeway Capital, the Monongalia Arts Center (MAC), and the West Virginia University Fashion Design and Merchandising, the organization has over $200,000 for its Artisan Entrepreneurship Program (AEP). Amy Loomis with Main Street Morgantown says the progression of AEP is a huge win for the community.

“This program is meant to help support creative entrepreneurs and they need a place to incubate, grow and learn to be successful,” said Loomis. “The more small businesses we can support through this program, the better.”

The former office of Main Street Morgantown on 201 High Street will be transformed into a dynamic retail lab. Volunteers from WVU’s fashion design and merchandising will work alongside creative entrepreneurs and community members on the project to provide retail opportunities. Through AEP, …
