The city is currently in a public comment period for the new plan.
MADISON, Ala. — The city of Madison is looking to the future with its “Madison on Track 2045” Comprehensive Plan.
City Council hosted a work session Wednesday night, discussing the plan with a presentation from the Planning Commission. Madison City Council President John Seifert said this plan has been in the works for quite some time.
“We went out about a year ago and got quotes consulting with a company to help us determine where we want to go, what we want to be, and gain a better plan,” Seifert said.
The previous comprehensive plan is from 2001, which was updated in 2006. Just under 20 years later, the city council feels like it’s time to look toward the future again.
“We can look at different areas in the city and grow in a responsible manner,” Seifert said.
