MACON, Ga. — Macon residents came together to not only celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., but also look to clean up their community.
Members of Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful both came out to join in with the Human Rights Campaign to honor King’s legacy.
They worked together to clean up the area in front of King’s mural on 1075 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.
Around 80 people came out to participate in the community cleanup in Greenwood Bottom.
After the cleanup, a Food Truck Frenzy happened from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for those who wanted to enjoy various food trucks and various group activities after the cleanup.
