Lynchburg residents learn about the impact of cell-phones [Video]

A few parents and concerned residents had the opportunity to learn about the impact of cellphones on the younger generation during a listening session and discussion at E.C. Glass High School on Thursday evening.

Jonathan Haidt, a social psychologist, author and researcher, and First Lady of Virginia Suzanne Youngkin had a discussion at Old Bridge Elementary School in Prince William County, livestreamed on YouTube, to talk about Haidt’s book “The Anxious Generation.”

The two discussed how limiting social media and cellphone use can restore childhood and play.

Haidt said Virginia is leading the country on how to handle cellphones in schools, adding the executive order by Gov. Glenn Youngkin was “really well done.”
