TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Lucas County Children Services aims to help kids stay on the right path after traumatic experiences. The organization received a new grant that will specifically help children affected by opioids.
“We want to continue to work towards giving back to the community and making sure that we’re doing all we can to keep families together,” Amy Galvan, manager of Family and Community Engagement at Lucas County Children Services (LCCS), said.
LCCS said a new grant will allow them to do just that. The OneOhio Recovery Foundation has awarded them more than $460,000.
“This grant that we actually received was focused on expanding our Family Search and Engagement efforts to be able to have children placed within their families in their community and to strengthen the support to find families but also to support them afterward,” Chanda Beal, director of Social Services at LCCS, said.
