LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – With high school basketball and the Huskers’ Sweet 16 volleyball match, Lincoln Transportation & Utilities will be out hitting the roads and Lincoln Police will be closely watching for any crashes.
The City said its snow plow drivers are covering all 26 of Lincoln’s arterial routs on Friday, with the goal of keeping streets from icing up.
“We’re expecting freezing rain that could potentially create some slick icy conditions on the roadways,” said Tim Byrne, LTU. “Not expecting any snow, so our strategies for this event is salt.”
The City also reminds drivers that if you see one of their trucks, to give them some space and go slow.
LPD urges drivers to leave themselves with extra time to get where they need to go.
As of 4:45 p.m., Lincoln Fire and Rescue and Lincoln Police responded to multiple crashes across the capital city.
