MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The LSU AG Center is starting a new program to help rural communities.
They’re starting up The Community and Economic Development Initiative, and they have big plans on how to help our tiny towns.
The program aims to connect rural communities with funding to help residents build better lives.
Jessica Stroope is the newly named community and economic development specialist, and she’ll be taking the lead on the work.
In a statement released by the LSU AG Center, Stroope says, “we want our rural communities to thrive and to not miss out on the resources that are available to them.” She added on “at the AG Center, we connect the resources of the university to the people. This is another meaningful way to do that, to translate the research and knowledge into action in communities.”
