Louisville nonprofit celebrates parents who showed resilience, community leadership | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Several parents were honored on Saturday for providing inspiration and making an impact in the community.

Parents Against Violence Engagement, also known as PAVE, held its end of the year celebration at the Louisville Central Community Center. The program empowers parents through education, resources and fostering.

The nonprofit hosts classes for parents who have gone through difficult times like losing a child.

“It’s very important to empower parents in this day and age,” said Ron Triplett. “Gun violence and early teenage pregnancy and just folks that are really facing the brunt end of violence and it’s very important to try to encourage them to hang in there and be encouraged to be better parents.
