LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Louisville community gathered together Thursday morning to celebrate the YMCA at the mayor’s Thanksgiving breakfast.
The YMCA of Greater Louisville and Mayor Craig Greenberg highlighted outstanding people and programs of 2024.
“I think the YMCA is very important to Louisville,” said Gary Cobbs, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Louisville. “We serve hundreds of thousands of people every year — many, many children. The YMCA is the leading agent of child care across the state of Kentucky. Without child care, you don’t really have economic development or workforce development.”
The breakfast was held at the Mellwood Art Center.
They also recognized the YMCA Youth Character Award recipients for their exceptional leadership and commitment to the community.
