LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville is celebrating the 90th birthday of a champion for civil rights.
Rev. Charles Elliott was celebrated by his peers and community members during a special event at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church.
He walked and worked with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and has been a civil rights pioneer in Kentucky for more than 50 years.
Elliott helps lead the annual Father’s Day Peace Walk, Martin Luther King Jr. Motorcade and other efforts for peace, economic-social justice and non-violence.
