Local trauma surgeon honored for volunteerism! [Video]

Doctor Damon Clark is a trauma surgeon with Keck Medicine of USC and he’s positively changing our community through leadership and inspiration.

He helps with the Stop the Bleed training program, which teaches young people wound treatment and founded the Surgeon for a Day program, which provides students from under-resourced schools with hands-on experience in surgery and medicine. But one of Dr. Clark’s most impactful outreach programs is his free tattoo removal service.

He works with the nonprofit Soledad Enrichment Action and helps people with a negative past turn towards a positive future.

Whether looking to erase the memory of time spent in a gang or to remove the physical reminder of a traumatic experience, Dr. Clark tells Hero Host Heather Jordan, “Everybody has a deep and personal story and a reason for getting them removed. So why not help and provide that.”
