People in need were invited to Mercy Health Medical Center to pick up various clothing items, hygiene products and community resources for free.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Heading into the winter months, temperatures will continue to drop signaling the time to bundle up to stay warm.
While some are able to pull out their winter gear from their closets, not everyone has the means for those items. Especially for those struggling to feed and care for their families, kids may outgrow their coats or they may be out-worn and damaged.
Since reliable winter weather gear is important to get through the brisk season, the Threads of Love event is there to help fill in the gap.
The nonprofit Open Arms Transformation Living teamed up with several local organizations to host the event at the Mercy Health Medical Center on Franklin Avenue, allowing attendees a chance to shop for newer coats and other clothing items for the entire family.
