ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Cleanup continues after Hurricane Helene tore through Georgia communities in late September. Now, local organizations are pitching in to help.

Big Miller Grove Baptist Church in Stonecrest is collecting donations throughout the week to deliver to Augusta.
They are accepting first aid kits, non-perishable food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, water, and charcoal.
“Right now, we’re going to focus on Augusta, which is in our backyard,” said Outreach Director Kathy Cain.
She said they will gather donations over the week and then drive it all to Augusta themselves to target the areas that people are struggling to get in and out of.
She said when she saw the devastation in Augusta, she knew they had to help.
