Local nonprofit giving new life to old South Omaha building [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – An old South Omaha building located along Upland Parkway and near 30th St. is finally seeing new light.

It was once home to Jetter Brewery, but has been abandoned for years.

“That building was a wreck,” Alex Pulciani, Omaha resident said.

Canopy South is behind the revitalization efforts. They’re turning the building into a new community space and office space for the nonprofit.

Alec Pulciani, who used to live near the building said crews have been working hard for the past several months.

“The development of that building has made things safer and cleaner I believe,” Pulciani said.

South Omaha leader Marcos Mora told 6 News with more growth in the area there’s a need for more places for people to gather.

“The park now looks a lot nicer so it’s really going to be a great addition for the community,” Mora said.
