LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The community is showing its support for the 12-year-old brutally attacked on a Jefferson County Public Schools bus.
A video captured a student punching and kicking Kionni Davis. The video was taken onboard a school bus leaving Kammerer Middle School on Friday.
Kionni said it started with a verbal assault in school and escalated into the violent attack. While the attack is under investigation, the community has showed its support for the middle school student.
“It’s amazing for them to reach out to us like this,” said Kionni, in response to the Real Young Prodigys throwing him a surprise birthday party.
The Real Young Prodigys is a youth hip-hop group, with a mission to create a positive outlet and path to success for young people.
“I just want him to have a good day,” said Kionni’s mother, Whitney Davis, before the surprise birthday was revealed.
