Local educator speaks on future ACT changes [Video]

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – New changes are coming to the ACT test format.

The science section is becoming optional and the overall test is becoming shorter.

Traditionally, the test with four sections takes 3 hours to complete, but starting next year the test will take 2 hours to complete.

“They feel like this is a positive thing, because the ACT test is kind of a long test and so by shortening it, they feel there will be less test fatigue,” said George Norton, the Dean of Student Affairs at Wallace Community College.

For students debating on if they are going to take the science section or not, Norton urges students to do their research on perspective colleges before making the final decision.
