Local College Football Product Leaves Undefeated Team Over NIL [Video]

Matthew Sluka is taking his ball and going home — or to be more accurate, wherever he can make the most money.

Sluka was the starting quarterback for the UNLV Rebels, leading them to an undefeated start to the season after transferring in from Holy Cross. His tenure out in Las Vegas will end after just three games, however, as he announced on social media Tuesday that he will not play in any more games this season.

“I committed to UNLV based on certain representations that were made to me, which were not upheld after I enrolled,” Sluka posted on X. “Despite discussions, it became clear that these commitments would not be fulfilled in the future. I wish my teammates the best of luck this season and hope for the continued success of the program.”
