WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A local church is set to host a festival Saturday, Nov. 9, to raise money for services supporting those rebuilding their lives after battling addiction.
According to Hope Recovery United Methodist Church, its Hope Recovery Fest is an all-day event that will feature six live music acts, three speakers, vendors and food and drinks provided by Mocksie and T’Geaux Boys.
“Proceeds benefit Hope Recovery Faith Community supporting the recovery community and serving people experiencing homelessness through ‘The Warming Shelter’ cold-weather sheltering on ILM’s coldest nights,” the event flyer reads.
Hope Recovery UMC is the lead organizer of The Warming Shelter ILM initiative – an overnight, cold-weather emergency shelter for the unhoused and displaced citizens of Wilmington. The shelter opens on Wilmington’s cold nights and offers anyone in need a warm and safe space to sleep.
