LMPD investigates critical hit-and-run in Russell neighborhood [Video]

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is facing life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run in the Russell neighborhood Saturday night. 

The Louisville Metro Police Department responded to South 28th Street and West Broadway around 7:15 p.m. on reports of a pedestrian struck.

According to the press release, officers located a man in the intersection that had been struck. Officers provided First Aid assistance until EMS and LFD arrived on the scene.

Once on scene, first responders transported the victim to the hospital with critical life-threatening injuries. 

Police say their preliminary investigation shows the victim was attempting to cross W. Broadway at S. 28th in the crosswalk when he was struck by a truck that was traveling eastbound on Broadway. 

Officials say the vehicle failed to stop and continued to make a right-hand turn on 28th. St heading south.
