Little Portion Friary seeks volunteers amid rising homelessness crisis [Video]

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Local shelters are seeing an increase in demand for their services as many are struggling to keep up. Little Portion Friary is looking for more help to serve the community’s most vulnerable.

The need for food and water, a warm place to stay, and a little bit of support has never been greater. Staff at Little Portion Friary are doing everything they can to help, but they can’t do it alone.

Sheba Tejan, who is pregnant with twins, has been staying at the home for the past two months.

“We are safe, we are sound, we have a roof over our head by the grace of God and little portion,” Tejan said.

The home relies on volunteers to serve meals, do maintenance, and organize donations to those experiencing homelessness. They also help guests find affordable housing.
