List of crashes, road closures in the area due to weather conditions [Video]

(LEX 18) — As the winter storm hits the region, officials are reporting several wrecks and road closures that have occurred in the area due to impacted roads on Sunday.

Highway 72 in Bell County

At approximately 11 a.m. Sunday morning, a truck rolled over on Highway 72. According to a social media post, no injuries were sustained.

I-65 in Hart County

Kentucky State Police want drivers to avoid travel during this winter storm.

KSP posted a picture to its social media page, saying a trooper was hit Sunday along I-65 in Hart County.The trooper was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Please heed warnings and do NOT travel today,” KSP said in the post.

I-64 at mile marker 87

A truck was seen flipped over on I-64 eastbound at mile marker 87 before the Haley Road exit in Lexington at around 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver was uninjured, according to officials, and the accident occurred due to the road conditions.
