LIST: MLK Day events across the Tampa Bay area [Video]

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Communities across the Tampa Bay area will gather to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — a civil rights hero and activist who fought for the rights of all people during the civil rights movement.

This year, several celebrations will be taking place on the national holiday to celebrate his legacy.

Below is a list of events taking place throughout the Tampa Bay area.

What: This family-friendly parade will include floats, marching bands, equestrian groups and decorated vehicles for a variety of local organizations.

When: Begins at noon on Monday, Jan. 20

Where: The parade route starts at Cuscaden Park on 15th Street and 21st Avenue and will end at Osborne Avenue and 22nd Street. A map can be found on the event website.
