HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – The Nebraska State Fair is just two weeks away, and those planning to stay in Grand Island may find it challenging to secure lodging if they haven’t already made reservations.
Hotels, Airbnbs, and even campground spots are in high demand as the event approaches. Brad Mellema, executive director of Grand Island Tourism, noted that many regular attendees of the fair often book their accommodations for the following year before they even leave.
“The vendors that are here, they’ll book it right away when they leave so they have their place reserved for the following year,” said Mellema.
Hotels near Fonner Park, where the fair is held, are already sold out, and availability across Grand Island is limited. The Nebraska State Fair draws visitors not only from across the state but from around the country.
