LEGO sets donated to kids by Harrisburg nonprofit [Video]

A Harrisburg nonprofit is inviting kids to think creatively this Christmas and is providing the building blocks to do it.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — It starts with one brick, and then another and another.

The nonprofit has donated dozens of sets to families in Dauphin County since August 2023.

“The primary mission is to donate LEGO sets to kids in need for Christmas, but we also do community LEGO-building workshops and raise funding for college scholarships,” said founder and chairman Lee Barber.

Barber says he was inspired to start the nonprofit after going through his own childhood struggles, making it his mission to ensure no child was without a toy on Christmas.

“Surprisingly, many of them currently don’t own a LEGO set, and oftentimes, we’re the first one to give them their first LEGO set, which is really special,” Barber said.

Although, the nonprofit can’t do it all alone.
