IRISH radio star Ed Smith has quit TodayFM after 25 “life-changing” years on air.
The popular ‘rock and roll guru’, who first joined the station in 1999, took to social media this afternoon to announce his shock departure.
Ed hosts his radio show Today FM Rocks on weekdays and Sundays at 10pm to 12am.
The Cork native is now hanging up his mic and bid farewell to his fans in a statement that said: “Hello all! After 25 life changing, craic having, friend finding and above all, radio making years, my time with Today FM is coming to an end.
“Shout out to the countless colleagues that endured and inspired me. They were, are and will forever be the heart and soul of it all.”
Ed thanked his loyal listeners and described his DJ job as the “greatest job in the world”.
