pressure builds back over the North Country by early next week. LEFTOVERS FROM A RECORD- BREAKING DESSERT AT THIS WEEKEND’S RUTLAND WHOOPIE PIE FESTIVAL ARE STILL DELIGHTING COMMUNITY MEMBERS. ON SATURDAY, DREAM MAKER BAKERS OF KILLINGTON BROKE A RECORD FOR LARGEST- DOCUMENTED WHOOPIE PIE WITH THEIR NEARLY 12- HUNDRED POUND BEHEAMOTH. LEFTOVERS, AND THERE ARE ABOUT 8- HUNDRED POUNDS OF LEFTOVERS, WERE GIVEN TO “BROC COMMUNITY ACTION” IN RUTLAND. IT’S DIVIDING UP THE DONATION AND WILL FREEZE THE PORTIONS. THEY’LL BE DISTRIBUTED THROUGH THE “BROC COMMUNITY FOOD SHELF” — AS WELL AS THROUGH OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND CHURCHES. THE FOOD SHELF TELLS NBC5 THE WHOOPIE PIE WILL BE A NICE BONUS ON TOP OF THE MILK, FRESH PRODUCE, AND FRESH MEATS THAT ARE THE STAPLES OF FOOD SECURITY IT WORKS TO PROVIDE. <THIS ISN’T TYPICALLY SOMETHING THAT WE HAVE OR SOMETHING THAT WE CARRY.
