Businesses throughout the city of Leeds donned a blue bow on their door, indicating they’re participating in the Blue Light Weekend. Many of the businesses offered deals and discounts to those who stopped in and shopped local.”Anything that we can do as a Chamber of Commerce and a city to attract people to Leeds to shop is only going to help our business owners,” corporate ambassador chair for the Leeds Chamber of Commerce Dona Bonnett said.Thousands of people shopped in Leeds during the event, helping many business owners.”Blue Light weekend has completely changed our business,” Yellowhammer Antiques owner Erica Spray said. “We did better on Blue Light Weekend than we did on our grand opening.”Yellowhammer Antiques has only been open for nine weeks, but Blue Light Weekend was its biggest sales weekend yet.
