SIOUX CITY — Woodbury County Law Enforcement Center Authority Chairman Ron Wieck cast a vote Tuesday that keeps his son, Todd Wieck, as a full-time employee with the Authority’s consultant for the LEC project.
The consulting firm, Des Moines-based Baker Group, has a month-to-month contract with the Authority, a joint county-city body formed to finance and build a new jail. The Baker Group’s project coordinator, Shane Albrecht, is currently part-time, and Todd Wieck, the site supervisor, is full-time.
On Nov. 5, the Authority began discussing potential change to the contract now that the new jail is open and final checklist items are nearing completion. Authority officials asked the Baker Group to present different options for the contract, starting in December.
