▷ Chinese President Xi Jinping has missed an open and closed session with world leaders at a key summit in Lima. Beijing has not explained the absence on day two of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting.

▷ Lebanese officials say an Israeli airstrike in Douris, in the country’s northeast, has killed at least 15 rescue workers. The attack is one of the deadliest targeting emergency responders in Lebanon since the latest conflict began.
