Leake County High School set to perform in 2024 Dunkin Thanksgiving Day Parade [Video]

LEAKE CO. (WLBT) -The Leake County High School Marching Band will soon represent the state in one of the nation’s oldest Thanksgiving Day parades.

It’s been around for 105 years.

The band consists of more than seventy students who are now gearing up for the event of a lifetime.

Those of you in Leak County who are familiar with the band’s iconic sound will soon see them performing on a national level in less than three months. Band director, Tanarri Moore, says he applied for a big gig without the hope of getting a response back.

Just when he thought all hope was gone, here’s what he said happened after he applied.

“They didn’t take no more than 10-15 minutes to respond back and say that we were accepted.”

Moore and his fellow students say this opportunity is a huge milestone for the school and the district.
