LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – 16-year-old Kumei Norwood is the owner of Tofu Tees in downtown Las Vegas, selling T-shirts focused on social causes.
“A lot of my designs now are social issues based, what’s going on in the world,” said Kumei. “The environment and just Inequality in its rawest form, whether that’s race, gender, sexuality, everything.”
Kumei started her brand when she was only 8 years old.
“I started out by just doing pop ups at markets and everything held by the community out here, and then eventually I got offered a space in Fergusons, and I opened my first store. It was like 100 square feet,” she said. “And then every year from there on, I moved into a bigger space.”
