Lanesville Heritage weekend draws nearly 75k visitors to southern Indiana town | News from WDRB [Video]

LANESVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) — A Southern Indiana town is celebrating its history with an annual fan-favorite event.

The Lanesville Heritage Weekend Festival is in full swing at Lanesville Heritage Park in Harrison County.

The three-day celebration includes everything from fiddlers, log sawing and tractor pulling contests to vendors, live entertainment, food and more.

This is the 49th year for the big event, brining in around 75,000 people to celebrate the farming heritage of the community. Vintage farm machinery is also on display.

“It’s definitely a family-oriented event, and I think that’s one of the very positives of it,” Jenny Reinhardt, who attended the festival, said. “It’s a community event, a lot of people take pride in it. We jokingly say it’s the time we all trim our weeds so it looks good when the visitors come in.”
