GREATER LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette Cancer Care is hosting the 39th annual Relay for Life on Saturday at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds.
Relay for Life is an event where the community comes together to support cancer fighters, encourage caregivers and to remember those who suffered through cancer.
The goal of the event is raise funds for patient support programs and breakthrough research.
The event is sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
James Miller, the event organizer, talked about how this helps the community.
“People raise funds, we honor cancer survivors, and it is important because we’re making a difference, and lives are being saved,” said Miller.
The event is on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
