SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Lackawanna County Official is off the job for comments about the attempted assassination of former President Trump.

The county employee of more than 20 years has been suspended without pay.

The Lackawanna County Commissioners suspended Community Relations Manager Rick Notari for an alleged comment made online following the assassination attempt that wounded the former president killed a bystander and hurt two others.

The county has described it as an “Inappropriate remark”.

This Lackawanna County Employee has been suspended without pay over an “Inappropriate” social media post made about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

County Community Relations Manager Rick Notari made the post Saturday night on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

It said “It’s a shame the guy missed.”

The post was a reply to a post a sports commentator made about the shooting. It has since been deleted.
