Labor Day weekend travel is underway and according to TSA, it’s going to be recording-breaking. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is expecting to screen more than 17 million people. According to a press release by the agency, passenger volumes are 8.5 percent higher than last year.
Officials said Friday, August 30, is expected to be the peak travel day with the agency expected to screen 2.86 million people.
The Automobile Club of Southern California found that domestic travel bookings for Labor Day weekend are up 9%. The agency said the top local destinations for Labor Day destinations are San Diego, Anaheim, Grand Canyon, and Central Coast.
