The 2024 season was meant to be a sort of “rebuilding” season for LSU, if that even is such a thing for Jay Johnson’s program. After winning a National Championship and losing all-time college players such as Dylan Crews and Paul Skenes, a bit of a step back was expected. LSU finished the regular season with a 36-20 (13-17) record, earning the No. 11 seed in the SEC Tournament. To the surprise of nobody, the Tigers made a run to the Finals (even beating Kentucky 11-0 in the Second Round) before falling to No. 1 seed Tennessee.
