RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – The Rapid City Knights of Columbus’s mission is to give back to the community and those in need. And they did just that at Thursday’s 42nd annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
The Knights of Columbus Council 1489 hosted their Thanksgiving event with one goal in mind: giving back. Dozens of donors and volunteers came together to support the cause by serving turkey, drinks, and to-go meals.
Event organizer William Swanson says an event this big takes at least a month of planning.
“Ordering and preparing for I would guess at least a month this has been in the planning stage. It usually comes very quickly. The sponsors and donors are very happy to oblige us and give us what we need or to help with what we need to do this,” Swanson said.
