It’s getting colder, and a woman’s living conditions are putting her at risk.Linda Carter reached out to KMBC 9 Investigates because of a hole in her ceiling at the Blue Valley Court Townhomes near East 23rd Street and Topping Avenue.Carter uses her stove to stay warm.She doesn’t want to use her furnace with a hole in her ceiling and roof.“I just refuse to turn it on,” she said. “And that hole is up there.”The hole is in her daughter’s bedroom on the second floor.A rainstorm this spring caused a leak in the roof.“All of a sudden, we hear boom,” she said.Drywall and insulation crashed down.Since then, she’s pleaded with apartment managers for a fix.“And the maintenance guy that’s down here, he said that they didn’t have no money,” she said.Blue Valley Court has gone through multiple owners in recent years.KMBC 9 Investigates reached out to a Kansas City, Missouri, spokeswoman …
