(KLFY) — Ed Marshall, a KLFY News 10 legend, died on Thursday after a brief illness.
Marshall was best known in Acadiana for his “Contact 10” consumer reports that highlighted life challenges of locals, investigated them and resolved them.
Marshall was the first Black news reporter in Acadiana and was a popular on-air personality and an award-winning journalist.
He was employed at KLFY from 1978 to 1989.
He later moved into the business world, serving as a vice-president and public relations director for a New Orleans bank. He also opened his own PR firm.
Marshall also found time to stay in television, hosting shows like Money Matters and conversations for New Orleans public TV station WLAE.
Marshall is survived by his loving wife, Carmella, and daughter, Kristina.
Marshall was 67 years old.
