Killington Bakery attempting to set the record for largest whoopie pie [Video]

Dream Maker Bakers off of Route 4 in Killington was preparing for Rutland’s 3rd annual Whoopie Pie Festival Thursday. The festival will run from 12 to 5 p.m. in Downtown Rutland. The bakery is hoping to claim the title of making the largest whoopie pie. The current record holder is Wicked Whoopies in Freeport Maine at 1,067 pounds. However, staff members at Dream Maker Bakers said their whoopie is projected to break that record with a weight of over 1,100 pounds. The weighing will happen at around 4:15 p.m. during the festival. The event has been organized by the Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region. “It’s just a way to bring not only Rutland City and Rutland County together, but to allow people outside of our area to see what we are all about here in Downtown Rutland,” member services and events manager Chrispin White said.
