Kentucky Kingdom honors local first responders with free admission | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky Kingdom honored first responders this weekend.

In an effort to thank police officers, firefighters, healthcare workers and more, the Hometown Heroes weekend gave them and their families free tickets to the amusement park.

This event is always held around the anniversary of 9/11.

“It’s really just about honoring the people who get our community running and really support our community in terms of all the way from medical staff to military and just recognizing the importance of those roles,” said Logan Sanderson with Kentucky Kingdom.

A fundraiser was also held for Supporting Heroes which raises money for families of fallen heroes.
