White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dealt with the fallout from President Joe Biden’s CNN debate performance on Tuesday with one reporter flat out asking if anyone is “hiding” information about the president’s health.
Some Democrats have argued in favor of replacing 81-year-old Biden since his showing with Donald Trump, and Tuesday’s White House press conference included plenty of questions about the president’s health.
Jean-Pierre said the president had a “cold” during the debate. Asked if he took any medication that could have altered his performance, she would only say he was not taking any “cold medicine.”
“Is anyone in the White House hiding information about the president’s health or his ability to do the job day to day?” NBC News reporter Kelly O’Donnell asked Jean-Pierre.
“Absolutely not,” the press secretary said.
