KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Kansas City barbecue pits are set to fire up at the Kansas Speedway for the World Series of Barbecue.
The American Royal has announced that its World Series of Barbecue will bring the heart to Kansas City. The event is the world’s largest barbecue competition and the American Royal’s biggest fundraiser.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, officials indicated that Kansas City’s big pit party with live music, games and drinks. On Saturday, the community is invited to take part in family-friendly activities and competitions throughout the day.
Highlights include a ‘Kids Cue Competition’ in which up to 80 junior pitmasters between the ages of 6 and 15 will show off their skills as well as family fun activities. Bobbing in Baked Beans and Barbecue Sauce Wrestling are also sure to entertain.
Officials noted that a Battle of the Bands and inductions into the Barbecue Hall of Fame will round out the weekend. The …
